A. Overholt Straight Rye Whiskey is a 2024 release from Overholt (James B. Beam Distilling Co., Clermont, KY) that revives founder Abraham Overholt's original 1810 Pennsylvania "Monongahela Mash" recipe of 80% rye and 20% malted barley. Bottled at 47.5% ABV (95 proof) after roughly four years of aging, it offers notes of caramel, sandalwood, baked spice and light nuttiness, and is positioned as a heritage-driven, contemporary rye for sipping neat or in classic rye cocktails.
