Flor del Desierto Sierra is an artisanal sotol produced by Maestro Sotolero José "Chito" Fernández Flores in the Sierra Madre mountains near Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico. Made from 100% wild-harvested Dasylirion wheeleri (sotol/desert spoon) plants aged 18-22 years, the plants are pit-cooked with willow and oak, hand-shredded, fermented in open-air pine tanks, and double-distilled in copper pot stills, yielding a joven-style spirit around 47.5-48% ABV.
