The Famous Grouse is Scotland's best-selling blended Scotch whisky, first created by Matthew Gloag & Son in 1896 and now produced by The Edrington Group. The blend combines malt whiskies (notably from The Macallan and Highland Park) with grain whisky, yielding a smooth, honeyed, and lightly oaky character at 40% ABV.
