BLACKENED Rye The Lightning is a limited-edition Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey from BLACKENED American Whiskey, the brand created with Metallica. Aged 5-8 years and double-cask finished in Madeira and rum casks (matured to a Metallica playlist via the brand's proprietary Black Noise sonic-enhancement process), it is bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV). Inspired by Metallica's album "Ride the Lightning," the expression is released in limited annual batches (first in 2022, followed by a 2024 edition).
