Flor Del Desierto "Desierto" (Desert) is an artisanal sotol from Coyame del Sotol, Chihuahua, Mexico, produced by third-generation sotolero Gerardo Ruelas Hernandez from wild-harvested Dasylirion Leiophyllum plants aged 18-25 years. The plant is cooked in underground pits, hand-milled, open-air fermented, and double-distilled in copper pot stills, yielding a savory, 45% ABV spirit with notes of sage smoke, leather, salinity, and black peppercorn.
