ShelfRead verdict
Only one source has scored this: Excellent, and priced like it. Top-third reviews at a top-third price. The Bourbon Culture gives it 8/10, vs. 7.5/10 for the typical american whiskey (62 rated).

Jack Daniel's 12 Year Old is a limited-release, batch-specific Tennessee whiskey selected from barrels aged in the higher floors of the brand's Lynchburg, Tennessee rickhouses, bottled at a higher proof than the standard Old No. 7 expression. Batch 3 is part of an ongoing series of small-batch, age-stated releases from Jack Daniel's, charcoal-mellowed using the traditional Lincoln County Process before bottling.
