Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Rye Whiskey is a double-barreled rye whiskey aged first in new charred oak and toasted barrels before being loaded onto ocean-going vessels, where it continues maturing at sea. The constant motion, temperature swings, and salt air of the voyage accelerate extraction of wood sugars, producing a whiskey with notes of toasted marshmallow, maple syrup, toffee, vanilla, tobacco, and a sea-salt tinged, cinnamon-spiced finish.
