Molinari Sambuca Extra is Italy's best-selling sambuca, produced by the Molinari distillery in Civitavecchia since 1945. This sweet, strong anise liqueur is made from the essential oils of star anise (obtained via steam distillation), combined with sugar, herbs, and fine spices, yielding a smooth, full-bodied flavor with notes of clean aniseed, licorice, citrus peel, and a hint of menthol. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), it is traditionally served "con la mosca" (with coffee beans) or used in classic cocktails.
